With a keen eye for how the natural elements flow through both human designed and non human designed landscapes, Walker brings a unique perspective to the process of landscape design and management. Trained as a young adult as a naturalist and a tracker, Walker found his way to Massachusetts via a degree in Natural Resource Studies at Umass Amherst with a focus in forestry, and a minor in anthropology and wildlife studies. After a few years of teaching children how to stay integrated with the natural world, he pursued his Master's degree at Umass in Geography, exploring the dynamic relationship between people and the land in which they reside.
He developed his land and trail stewardship skillsets working for The Trustees of Reservations, focusing on making natural recreational places both accessible and sustainable for over 6 years. During this time Walker also pursued Permaculture Design Certification to better integrate with the people and the work he was interested in. In addition, he became involved as an occasional prescribed fire technician, a chainsaw safety and operations instructor, and began working with a local arborist providing tree care and removal services.
Walker founded Terramor, LLC as a way to integrate the wide array of skills and knowledge that he has had been developing over the years. He is a Firefighter/EMT, holds a class 2A hoisting license, and is a Certified Tree Care Safety Professional, and still teaches as an adjunct instructor at Greenfield Community College in the Environmental Studies department, as well as an instructor in the Workforce Development program, teaching tree pruning and chainsaw safety and maintenance.
